Interim Hearings/first Court hearing in the Federal Circuit Court & the Family Court

If your matter is listed in the Federal Circuit Court or Family Court of Australia for a duty list hearing, Mention, Directions or Interim Hearing before a Judge, your hearing will be conducted by telephone. If your matter is urgent or it is impracticable to conduct your hearing by telephone your lawyer can contact the Court to request the hearing be heard face-to-face.

If a telephone hearing is not practicable and your matter is not urgent, your matter may be adjourned to a future hearing date. If a telephone hearing is not practicable and your matter is urgent your hearing may remain listed for a face-to-face hearing at the Judge’s discretion.
