Nick is highly experienced in property damage litigation, motor vehicle recoveries, indemnity disputes, and complex fraud investigations. He regularly acts for leading Australian insurers, brokers, fleet managers, and claims managers.

Nick acts for insurers, self-insurers, brokers and policyholders in a broad range of complex insurance disputes, including property damage (liability and quantum), credit hire, fraud, and matters arising under the Insurance Contracts Act.

He is particularly recognised for his expertise in the defence of and recovery actions arising from motor vehicle and heavy motor property damage claims. His in-depth understanding of the third-party recovery sector and its stakeholders enables him to navigate complex, multi-party disputes with precision and efficiency.

He is known for his pragmatic and commercially astute approach to litigation. SB provides clear, strategic and outcome-focused advice, consistently delivering timely and cost-effective results for his clients.

Nick maintains a substantial practice in high-volume litigation, particularly in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, alongside large quantum matters in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the County Court of Victoria, including appellate work. He also has experience across the civil jurisdictions of South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania, and is adept at managing large, national portfolios of claims in a consistent and strategically coordinated manner.
