Jennie-Lee has over 14 years’ experience as a commercial litigation, dispute resolution and insolvency lawyer. Her practice is broad, and she has extensive experience conducting litigation in federal and state jurisdictions including Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.

- Acting for a director and shareholder against former LNP President David Hutchinson in Federal Court proceedings relating to misuse of company funds and successfully obtaining a judgment (with indemnity costs) relating to the director’s unlawful removal, the invalid share capital raising resolution, and the void voluntary administration of Green Day Energy Pty Ltd.
- Acting for Chatham Rock Phosphate Ltd (listed on NZX, TSX and FRA) and its Australian subsidiary in Federal Court proceedings instituted by a Chinese mining company relating to the validity and enforceability of a term sheet for the purchase of a phosphate mine and the extension of a caveat over the mining lease in the Land Court of QLD.
- Acting for the entire network of Thrifty/Hertz franchisees in a dispute with the Australian master franchisee, relying on the multi-party dispute resolution and class exemption for collective bargaining provisions in the Franchising Code relating to ending the franchises and negotiating new Sixt branding
- Acting for Groupline Constructions Pty Ltd and successfully obtaining permanent injunctions in the QLD Supreme Court restraining construction lawyer Stephen Pyman and CDI Lawyers from acting for a developer in multiple construction proceedings due to the risk of misuse of confidential information.
- Acting for six family members defending proceedings instituted by a financial services company in the QLD Supreme Court seeking to enforce $22 million in facilities, guarantees and mortgages, and instituting third party proceedings for professional negligence against a law firm.
- Acting for a national petroleum company in litigation and disputes including an unfair preference claim by a liquidator, a confidential information dispute with a former employee, a pre-trial discovery action, litigation involving a negligently designed sewerage plant, an unlawful termination proceeding, a commercial lease dispute with a restaurant lessee, and a building works dispute.
- Acting for a board member and treasurer of a prominent tourism organisation in a workplace investigation involving bullying allegations by the CEO. Acting for a director of a roofing company defending proceedings instituted in the Queensland Human Rights Commission alleging sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Acting for a large mining company defending three concurrent proceedings totalling $40 million in the Federal Court and QLD Supreme Court instituted by its former CEO, CFO and COO involving a complex performance-based share award scheme and allegations of fraud.
- Advising two former partners of a large national law firm in respect of settlement issues relating to their exit from the partnership.
- Acting for a senior officer at Toowoomba Regional Council in defamation proceedings against a property developer relating to a publication circulated to high level members of government and Parliament.
- Acting for a student of a prominent Brisbane GPS school and successfully overturning an expulsion.
- Acting for multiple wives and husbands alongside family law firms which involved concurrent complex commercial disputes or litigation involving shareholder oppression and breaches of director’s duties.
- Acting for Isuzu Ute, Degani Coffee, Great Southern Bank, Australasian Association of Medico-Legal Providers and Verosol Australia in disputes involving infringements of the Trade Marks Act 1995 (Cth), Australian Consumer Law, common law passing off and the torts of injurious falsehood and interference with contractual relations.
- Advising a prominent Credit Union on prospects and steps relating to threatened injunctive proceedings by a nominee board director which involved examining the bank’s constitution, policies and processes and APRA’s Prudential Standards.
- Acting for a large group of shipping companies in NSW Supreme Court proceedings against Svitzer and three JV entities which involved a derivative relief application, cross-vesting jurisdictional issues, and a management fee claim and redundancy cross-claim totalling $20 million spanning over 20 years.
- Acting for the former directors of a company in a public examination and other related proceedings brought by the liquidator.
