Tyrone advises across the full range of employment and industrial relations, discrimination, local government law and education.

With a background in human resource management, Tyrone has extensive experience in both advisory and contentious employment and industrial relations matters across broad industries. Assisting employers with advice, strategy and responding to litigation, Tyrone acts across the full range of employment and industrial relations including executive employment, termination, workplace investigations and general protection claims. Tyrone also practices in discrimination law across employment and education.

Tyrone is an experienced workplace investigator including in managing complex and sensitive investigations involving public interest disclosures. He brings particular expertise in advising across the local government sector on a broad range of employment and governance matters. Tyrone also supports across the education sector.

Tyrone provides practical and strategic advice to enable employers to commercially manage employment related risks.

  • Advising on the redundancy of various workers on employer sponsored visas in a remote location
  • Acting for an employer and eight individual directors in defence of a general protections claim before the Federal Circuit and Family Court
  • Acting for a school authority in defence of a complex discrimination complaint
  • Advising a local government on contentious union coverage issues
  • Acting for a local government in an application for interpretation of a state industrial award regarding the applicable rate of overtime and penalty rates payable to employees
  • Advising an employer on complex wage underpayments and assisting with remediation
  • Appearing as solicitor advocate in three industrial disputes before the Fair Work Commission concerning entitlements under successive enterprise agreements, and successfully defending the three disputes on appeal to the Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission
