Tom has extensive experience in all facets of property damage litigation, motor vehicle recoveries and settlements, indemnity disputes, and investigating fraudulent insurance claims. He has worked for many of Australia’s largest insurers, brokers, fleet managers, and claim managers.
His practice principally includes high volume litigation in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, large quantum litigation in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the County Court of Victoria, and appeals to the Supreme Court. He also has experience in the civil jurisdictions of South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales, and Tasmania.

Acting for the defendant in the matter of Roehlen v. Mikhail [2018] VSC 121, which explored the contractual obligations of credit hire companies and their customers
Acting in a liability dispute involving nine vehicles where the sequence of collisions was disputed
Acting in a credit hire dispute where the plaintiff didn’t intend to contract with the rental provider (presently under appeal)
Acting in a credit hire dispute where the plaintiff’s claim was dismissed for lack of enforceability (presently under appeal)
Acting in a hire car dispute involving a substantial rental period as the plaintiff awaited settlement funds
Acting in a quantum dispute involving a damaged semitrailer with a significant loss of income claim.
