Nick has been a specialist corporate M&A lawyer for over 24 years with significant expertise in domestic and cross border private/negotiated sales and disposals.

Nick has a detailed practical knowledge of the issues involved when completing M&A transactions and has worked on a variety of acquisitions, buy-outs, disposals and joint ventures for both domestic and international clients across a range of industries, including agri, travel, digital, e-commerce, IT, financial services and general industrials.

Nick has an outstanding track record of delivering successful outcomes to his clients. He is highly regarded for his strategic thinking and brings exceptional commercial and legal insight to the table.

  • Advising Straight Bat Private Equity on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Australia’s leading temporary fence and complimentary hire company 1300TempFence
  • Advising Pier 12 Capital (formerly Auctus Investment Group) in relation to its investment in early parenting omnichannel retailer, The Memo
  • Advising the owners of specialist agricultural property fund manager, Arrow Funds Management, on the 100% sale of Arrow Funds Management to Centuria Capital Group (ASX: CNI)
  • Advising the founder of RMS Cloud, a global leader in providing cloud-based property management systems for the hospitality industry, on a majority sell down to Advent Partners
  • Advising Pier 12 Capital in relation to the sell down of its stake (held through the Pet Fund) in PETstock Pty Ltd to Woolworths Group Limited (ASX:WOW) as part of the acquisition by WOW of a 55% stake in PETstock (having also advised Pier 12 Capital on the original investment in PETstock)
  • Advising the owners (the Simonetta family, Victor Smorgon Group and James Orloff) of Perfection Fresh Australia, Australia’s largest privately owned fruit and vegetable marketer and distributor, on the partial sale of the business to a global consortium comprising Equilibrium Capital, Temasek and existing investor Public Sector Pension Investment Board
  • Advising Lux Group (owner of Luxury Escapes) with respect to an external equity raise of up to $125m by the Luxury Escapes Fund, a special purpose investment fund managed by Pier 12 Capital.
