Megan has over 20 years specialist experience in the areas of general and life insurance, with a specific emphasis on public liability, professional indemnity and total and permanent disability life insurance claims.

Megan has acted for major general and life insurance companies, Lloyd syndicates, local governments, and superannuation trustees. She is known in the defendant insurance law space as a highly effective negotiator and achieves excellent settlement outcomes in the best interest of her clients. Megan has acted in mediations, trials and appeals in courts at all levels.

  • Defending life insurers and trustees in TPD and IP litigation involving aspects of non-disclosure, fraud, eligibility criteria, pre-existing conditions, ETE requirements, trustees’ and insurers’ assessment duties, and procedural fairness within the framework of the Superannuation Industry (Superannuation) Act 1993
  • Acting for the owner/occupier of an airport in a nervous shock psychiatric injury claim by an airline staff member claiming damages resulting from an alleged terrorist act
  • Acting for professionals in various medical negligence claims against medical practices and aged care facilities
  • Successfully defending various professionals including veterinarians, nurses and allied health professionals in relation to complaints to professional bodies
  • Acting in defence of property damage and nuisance claims involving water inundation to adjacent properties.
