Daniella was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 2014 and joined the Insurance Team at Mills Oakley in March 2019, prior to this she was working at another national insurance firm.

Daniella is an experienced insurance litigator practising across both personal injury litigation and property liability, including Plumbers’ Warranty matters.

She advises on complex property liability matters and is often involved in large scale matters brought against insurers directly.

Daniella acts for a wide range of clients, including major Australian insurers and large corporate organisations, including shopping centre management companies.

Recent Matters

  • Mould and water damage claims, including acting on behalf of a large Australian Insurers in respect of litigated claims brought by home owners regarding allegations of property damage, including water damage and mould
  • Advising a number of insurers with respect to indemnity considerations and liability issues arising out of personal injury claims
  • Ongoing advice and defence of multiple public liability (personal injury) litigation matters against one of Australia’s largest commercial property owners
  • Taylor v GIO General Pty Ltd (ACN 002 861 583) & Anor [2018] VCC 1301 (30 August 2018) acted on behalf of AAI in respect of 31 day commercial trial brought in the County Court of Victoria. AAI successfully defended the action and was awarded indemnity costs
  • Kamasee v Commonwealth of Australia & Ors [2017] VSC 537-was part of the defence team for a third party. Primarily responsible for coordinating and liaising with witnesses (a large number based overseas and interstate) in order to draft witness statements. Responsible for coordination of more junior team members and e-discovery.
