Aaron is a partner in our Sydney office specialising in planning and environment law. He has a thorough understanding of the issues specific to property development and land ownership.

Aaron’s focus is on development consents, planning controls (including rezonings), planning agreements, construction certificates, subdivision certificates, occupation certificates and other land use/environment approvals. Aaron also deals with land tax issues, compulsory land acquisition and public sector governance.

Aaron advises and represents property developers, certifying authorities and public sector organisations.

He provides practical advice to facilitate urban development and to overcome red tape. He is well known for his ability to spot the issues that others have missed – delivering a faster (and more commercial) outcome. His expertise covers both greenfield and infill development, including the residential, retail, commercial and industrial sectors. He regularly appears in the Land and Environment Court.

Aaron was engaged by the NSW Government to contribute to its green paper on planning reform A New Planning System for NSW, released in July 2012. He advised the NSW Government in relation to the drafting of the Planning Bill 2013. Aaron advised the Greater Sydney Commission on the preparation of its district plans.

The Law Society of NSW has accredited Aaron as a specialist in planning and environment law. Doyles’ Guide recommends him in the field of planning and development law. Aaron is also a registered planner.

Aaron was a member of the Law Society’s Environmental Planning and Development Committee from 2009 to 2016. Aaron frequently appears at seminars and industry events as an expert speaker on planning and environment law.
