Mills Oakley is pleased to announce the appointment of five new partners to its Sydney office, growing the partnership to over 170 and further cementing the firm’s reputation as Australia’s leading national law firm.

The lateral hires include:

• Brendan Wykes (Corporate Advisory) brings more than 25 years of experience specialising in mergers and acquisitions. He has strong expertise in buying, selling and raising funds for mid-market and growth companies. Brendan has led a broad range of successful domestic and international transactions across most industry sectors. Brendan joins the firm from Kain Lawyers.
• Greg Smith (Corporate Advisory) is an M&A specialist with 15 years of experience. Greg is known for executing complex transactions smoothly, and distilling legal advice into concise, everyday language. He has broad experience across sectors with a focus on Real Assets. Prior to joining Mills Oakley, Greg worked at Baker McKenzie.
• Andy Milidoni (Taxation) joins Mills Oakley from Johnson Winter & Slattery and brings over 25 years of experience in all aspects of revenue law, trust law and some aspects of superannuation law. Andy’s expertise spans both direct and indirect taxes (in all States and Territories) including international taxes, and he has acted for a diverse range of clients from public and multinational groups, funds and finance industry participants, private groups and high wealth individuals.
• Shanna Kruger (Property) specialises in property development, with a particular focus on residential, commercial and industrial developments. Her expertise includes advising on all stages of the project lifecycle, from acquisition through to disposal, including off-the-plan sales. Shanna joins the firm from Gadens.
• Mike Ellis (Property) brings over 30 years’ experience in all areas of property and projects and has been the lead project lawyer on some of the State’s most significant transactions, developments and whole precinct urban renewals. Mike has advised both private and public sector clients including state owned corporations, and listed entities across multiple jurisdictions including Singapore, China, Malaysia and Germany. Mike joins the firm from Vincent Young.
