Natalie Lonergan brings 30 years’ experience as an energy lawyer, advising participants in the international energy sector on mergers and acquisitions, divestments, commodities and project development. More recently, she is advising clients operating in the hydrogen, carbon management and renewables sectors.

Natalie is passionate about supporting the energy transition and advancing the sustainability and innovation of the energy sectors. She has remained committed to innovation and the development of energy law throughout her career, through her active involvement as a committee member on the Association of International Energy Negotiators CCUS and Hydrogen Committees, as a (former) director of Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association, (now Energy & Resources Law Association) and her continued service on the editorial committee of the Australian Energy Law Journal.

Working from both our Sydney and Brisbane offices, Natalie joins Mills Oakley from Squire Patton Boggs. With a background of successfully leading teams on complex cross-border energy transactions and projects, she looks forward to growing the firm’s energy practice nationally.
