Mills Oakley is pleased to announce the recent appointment of three partners, further strengthening the firm’s national capabilities across government, taxation and workplace relations.

The recent partner appointments are:

Kym Fraser
Partner | Government | Sydney
Kym Fraser is a leading public law and commercial litigator with more than 30 years’ experience acting for government agencies, universities and private sector clients. He has appeared in all courts exercising Federal jurisdiction, as well as the superior state courts of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with a particular focus on judicial review, major infrastructure projects and environmental and planning disputes.
Kym has held lead roles in several major Royal Commissions and inquiries, including the Banking and Financial Services Royal Commission, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the “Lawyer X” Inquiry and the Hotel Quarantine Inquiry.
Kym said his appointment reflects Mills Oakley’s strength in advising clients on complex public and regulatory matters.

John Boyagi
Partner | Taxation | Sydney
John Boyagi is an experienced tax controversy and dispute resolution lawyer who advises multinational corporations, listed entities and ultra high net worth individuals on complex, high value Australian tax disputes. He assists clients across the full lifecycle of tax disputes, from audits and risk assessment through to negotiations with regulators and litigation before the courts.
John is particularly recognised for his expertise in transfer pricing, anti avoidance matters and cross border structuring across a wide range of industries.
John said his appointment enhances the firm’s ability to support clients operating in an increasingly complex tax environment.

Jonathan Nguyen
Partner | Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety | Melbourne
Jonathan Nguyen returns to Mills Oakley, having previously practised with the firm, and brings more than 25 years’ experience advising employers, employees and unions on employment and industrial relations matters. He is well regarded for his practical and strategic approach and for working closely with clients to align legal advice with commercial objectives.
Jonathan has advised multinational organisations and Australian businesses across a range of sectors, including banking, manufacturing, aged care and retail, on complex workplace and employment issues.
Jonathan said his return strengthens the firm’s ability to support clients navigating evolving workplace challenges.
