A key feature of Mills Oakley’s annual Partners’ Conference is its charity partnership. In 2026, partners selected Giant Steps as the conference charity, with all funds raised throughout the event going directly towards its programs and services.
Giant Steps was established to bring world-class best practice in the education and support of children and adults on the autism spectrum to Australia. The organisation delivers a transdisciplinary approach that combines education with music, occupational and speech therapy. Its Adult Autism Services also provide a relevant and engaging post-school learning and recreational environment.
Giant Steps National Director of Fundraising, Michelle Jocum said, “We are incredibly grateful to Mills Oakley for embracing Giant Steps as this year’s charity partner and raising an incredible $72,000 in support of our work. As a registered charity, Giant Steps relies on the generosity of organisations like Mills Oakley to continue delivering our programs. Every dollar raised will help us provide opportunities that enable autistic children and young adults to learn, communicate, develop greater independence and reach their full potential. On behalf of our students, participants, families and staff, we sincerely thank Mills Oakley for their remarkable support.”
Mills Oakley Chief Executive Officer John Nerurker said the firm was proud to support such an impactful organisation.
“One of the things I am proudest of about Mills Oakley is that our people never lose sight of the communities we are part of. Raising $72,000 for Giant Steps is a wonderful achievement, but the real success is knowing those funds will help create better opportunities for autistic children and young adults.”
The fundraising effort reflects Mills Oakley’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.
