Mills Oakley partners and executive leaders have personally donated $50,000 at the annual Partners’ Conference to be provided to the Zahra Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that supports women impacted by domestic abuse, providing free programs, services, education and grants promoting economic well-being and empowering participants to build a life that is free from poverty and abuse.

Each year the Mills Oakley partnership comes together at its annual Partners’ Conference, bringing all its partners together under one roof, to focus on the future of the firm and how they can best continue to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to excellence, client service, and collaboration.

A key component of the conference each year is the link to a charity partner. This year, the Zahra Foundation was chosen, with all money donated by individual partners throughout the conference, going directly to those who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Mills Oakley Chief Executive Officer John Nerurker said the response from the partners was overwhelming.

“We are proud to support the Zahra Foundation and the vital work they do in empowering women to rebuild their lives. Our partners have been incredibly generous, and it is inspiring to see the Mills Oakley community rally around such a meaningful cause.

“Domestic and family violence doesn’t just impact individuals – it impacts entire communities. Every dollar raised is a step towards breaking the cycle of violence, offering hope, strength, and a future free from fear,” he said.

Amanda Martin, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zahra Foundation Australia said the donation would play a crucial role in helping women and children rebuild their lives free from poverty and violence.

“We’re proud to have been selected as the charity partner for Mills Oakley’s Partners’ Conference, with an incredible $50,000 raised in support of our work.

“As the cost-of-living crisis drives a 49% increase in demand for our services, this donation will have an immediate impact.

“Strategic, values-led giving like this is vital to support the role Zahra Foundation plays in helping women recover from domestic abuse and regain financial independence,” she said.

Zahra Foundation Co-Founder and Zahra’s son, Arman Abrahimzadeh OAM GAICD, also thanked the Mills Oakley partners for their generosity.

“This $50,000 donation by Mills Oakley is a prime example of the generous acts that have enabled the Zahra Foundation and our participants to break the cycle of violence and abuse,” he said.

The donation reflects Mills Oakley’s ongoing commitment to supporting organisations that drive long-term social impact, particularly in areas aligned with its pro bono and community engagement focus.
