Leading national law firm Mills Oakley has bolstered its national insurance practice and accelerated its growth in South Australia with the appointment of leading insurance litigation specialist Bronwyn Ackland as partner in the firm’s Adelaide office.

With nearly 25 years’ experience in insurance and health litigation, Bronwyn brings deep expertise across complex public liability, personal injury, CTP, professional indemnity (including medical negligence), product liability, dust diseases, property liability, and property damage matters. Her arrival further strengthens the firm’s market-leading capability in high-stakes healthcare disputes and regulatory defence.

Bronwyn is renowned for defending medical practitioners and hospitals in regulatory investigations and civil claims. She has appeared across a wide range of jurisdictions including the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Industrial Relations Tribunal, SAET, Coroners’ Court and Federal Court, and has acted as junior counsel to some of South Australia’s most prominent silks.

She joins fellow Adelaide partner Grant Mitchell, who commenced in February, as part of Mills Oakley’s targeted expansion in South Australia. Together, they will deliver enhanced capability to clients locally and nationally.

Bronwyn’s leadership in the profession is reflected in her recognition in Doyle’s Guide and Best Lawyers, as well as her service on the Law Society’s Civil Litigation Committee, the Joint Rules Advisory Committee, and the Law Claims Assessment Panel.
