Leading national law firm Mills Oakley is pleased to announce that its information security has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. The certification is an internationally recognised standard for management of information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection.

The firm achieved formal ISO/IEC 27001 certification in July 2023 following a firm-wide audit. Mills Oakley partnered with leading cybersecurity firm Sekuro to ensure its management of information security risks met this world-leading standard. The audit addressed every kind of information asset the firm holds, both digital and physical, from hard copy files and digital files, to hardware and software, as well as personal employee information and even physical premises.

Commenting on the recent certification, Mills Oakley Chief Executive Officer, John Nerurker, said the firm had always maintained a robust approach to information security.

“Mills Oakley is now able to provide clarity and reassurance on its information security, particularly as clients are increasing their own vigilance on the issue,” John said.

“Our clients can have peace of mind that the confidential information they entrust us with is protected by the highest standards of information security.

“Considering the latest wave of cyber-attacks, we are confident that we are doing everything possible to protect the privacy of our clients’ information.”

Mills Oakley recognises that ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is not a one-off compliance exercise, and the firm will continue to monitor, review and improve its information security management systems as a high priority.
