Experience

Martin Checketts has extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of corporate and commercial law including mergers and acquisitions, business succession,  fundraisings, private equity, takeovers, joint ventures, corporate governance, Corporations Act, ASX listing rules, and commercial agreements.

Expertise

Before relocating to Australia in 2000, Martin worked for a niche corporate practice in the UK, where he gained particular experience in management buy-ins and buy-outs and other venture capital backed transactions. Before joining Mills Oakley, Martin worked in the Corporate Advisory Group of Blake Dawson Waldron, where he gained a wide range of experience on major corporate transactions. Martin continues to advise a broad range of businesses on corporate and commercial legal issues. He has experience in advising clients in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, hospitality and technology. He has a particular interest in private and family-owned business succession.
