Joanne Hardwick is a Partner in Mills Oakley’s Commercial Litigation practice.

Experience

Joanne has practised in the area of commercial litigation and dispute resolution for almost 9 years.  Joanne rejoined Mills Oakley after returning from the United Kingdom where she worked in the law for two years at the Insolvency Service, an executive agency of the Department of Trade & Industry, Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, and in a medium sized insurance litigation private practice.

Expertise:

Her practice encompasses a wide range of commercial litigation matters with a particular focus on litigious and non-litigious insolvency matters. Her practice also includes aspects of trade practices, insurance litigation, and a variety of commercial disputes.

Her work abroad involved investigating the affairs and causes of failure of bankrupts and companies for the purpose of assessing and subsequently recommending, where appropriate, criminal prosecution of bankrupts and disqualification of directors for misconduct. She was also part of HM Customs & Excise confiscation taskforce, where she gained experience in the use of various methods of enforcement of confiscation orders made against the assets of criminals.

• Admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Victoria, New South Wales, and the United Kingdom
