Andrew Walker is a Partner and Team Leader of Mills Oakley’s Corporate Advisory team.

Experience

Andrew is a recognised leader in his field with extensive experience in structuring and executing complex mergers & acquisitions.

Expertise

Andrew advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital and debt raisings and other regulatory issues.  His current practice spans the fields of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, capital and debt raisings, corporate finance, joint ventures and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

Andrew trained in the United Kingdom.  He relocated to Australia in 1998 and spent 5 years working for Allens Arthur Robinson (“AAR”) and Blake Dawson (“BD”).  At both AAR and BD Andrew worked on a number of large and complex transactions including the privatisation of the South Australian Electricity industry, the acquisition of Sydney Airport and the acquisition of United Energy and Multinet Gas which involved a scheme of arrangement.  He also advised on a number of smaller mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and capital and debt raisings.  Prior to joining Mills Oakley Andrew was a part at another mid tier firm.

Andrew is admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister in Victoria. He is also admitted as a lawyer in England and Wales

Recent transactions

Advised:

• Beaconsfield Gold NL (ASX:BCD) on:
  • its share placement to a Malaysian cornerstone investor; and
  • its partially underwritten renounceable rights issue.
• CSBP Limited, a subsidiary of Wesfarmers Limited (ASX:WES), on the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of the ultimate holding company of Australian Vinyls Corporation Pty Ltd.
• 333 Capital and Transition Group Pty Ltd on its funding of and investment in Concept Sports Limited (ASX:CCS).
• a number of deals in the aged care sector, including Autumn Care Pty Ltd on the acquisition of an aged care facility.
• Hastings Funds Management on an investment in the acquisitions and aggregation of two scrap metal recycling businesses.
